Our general recommendation for automatic top loading washers is to first dilute 1/4 teaspoon of bluing (or less, depending on wash load size) in 1-2 quarts of water. Then, you add the diluted bluing to your already full wash or rinse cycle. It is important that bluing is well diluted before coming in contact with fabric. Most front-loading machines use less water than automatic machines. This means the bluing will ultimately be less diluted. Before using MSB in your front-loading washing machine, we recommend that you determine the following about your particular machine: 1. Do the dispensing drawers on your washer remain unlocked during the cycle, allowing you to add 1-2 quarts of liquid through the dispenser directly into the cycle after it has already filled with water? 2. If the drawers on your washer lock, do they hold 1-2 quarts of liquid and if so, is that liquid released after the washer is full of water? If you can answer yes to either of these questions, you will probably be able to use MSB very successfully in your front-loading washer. Otherwise, we are asking our front-loading customers to proceed carefully. Many front-loading customers have had great success using MSB in their washers. It simply depends on your washer. We are discussing ways in which we might manufacture bluing differently to provide a formula that can be used more easily in front-loading machines. We consider it an important task as front-loading machines are becoming more and more popular. At any rate - keep checking with us over the next few years, watch for a "NEW" bluing for front-loading machines. |
